Perhaps some of you recognized D.M. Ferry immediately. For slow folks like me, however, this company is now the famous Ferry-Morse seed company. A very well-referenced article on the company in Wikipedia gives us an excellent history. According to Wikipedia, "Ferry-Morse is currently part of Jiffy International, a Norwegian Company established in 1943 selling pots and pressed fiber articles. The company sells seeds as well as Jiffy seed starter kits."

A Google Image search hints at the beauty that Ferry-Morse has given us over the years...
